Teachers of the Presidential School in Tashkent share their experience with local specialists

A delegation of the Presidential School in Tashkent visited secondary school № 121 in Mirzo-Ulugbek district of the capital.

Science teachers of the Presidential School in Tashkent, Heflin Jeanna Marie and Makhfuza Chulliyeva, as well as students Rakhmatjon Gaipov and Temurbek Sulaimonov met with teachers and students of School No. 121.

At the beginning of the meeting, Rakhmatjon Gaipov and Temurbek Sulaimonov spoke about the activities of the Presidential School, as well as about the initiatives and projects of the students of the educational institution. They also answered questions of the students.

As part of the visit to exchange experience with local teachers Heflin Jeanna Marie and Makhfuza Chulliyeva conducted a lesson with the participation of schoolchildren.

Heflin Jeanna Marie has been teaching Science for over 10 years. She shared her experience in teaching Science on the example of the topic “Respiratory tract system”.

During the lesson, interactive methods and handouts were used. The participants also enhanced their knowledge with help of virtual lab works. At the end of the lesson, the students received answers to their questions.

Presidential schools were created in accordance with the resolution of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev “On measures for the education of Presidential schools” from 20 February 2019 and are aimed at creating a system for talent management and training future leaders of the country.

Presidential schools will become a kind of locomotive of reforms in improving the quality of education in Uzbekistan.

The learning process in Presidential schools is carried out according to the STEAM - education program, which will allow gifted youth to further develop thinking, willpower, creative potential and flexibility.

Today Presidential schools operate in Nukus, Khiva, Namangan and Tashkent. Experienced STEAM teachers were hired for these schools.

The Agency for Development of Presidential, Creative and Specialized Schools (PIIMA) has established cooperation with the Ministry of Public Education. Within the framework of this cooperation, foreign teachers of the Presidential Schools share their experience and knowledge with local specialists, as well as the methodology of teaching STEAM subjects.
