"Modern Trainer Program" training sessions

The Center for Pedagogical Excellence has initiated its first training program for teachers who aspire to become trainers of teachers, in support of the expanded school network under the Agency for Educational Institutions of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

The six-day program, from February 7-12, 2022, focuses its agenda on the skills, theory and best practices needed to support training excellence.  Planned sessions range from comparative learning theories to practical applications and evaluation methods. A microteaching / microtraining opportunity is scheduled for the end of the program, when participants can practice their newly acquired skills. An intentional focus of all sessions is reflection in practice, the unifying theme of the program.

Sessions are designed collaboratively between Uzbek and international educational experts, and represent a synthesis of perspectives that blend internationally forward application methods with depth and rigor to form a uniquely Uzbek approach to best educational practices. It is the intention of this seminal project to build a foundation for transformation in education in Uzbekistan.

The program will extend beyond the live training sessions in two ways. Teachers attending the training will bring methodologies to their schools and find support through a professional development network. An interactive publication featuring text, training notes and video links will be available for distribution to schools soon after the live training program completes.
