The delegation of the Agency is participating in the conference in Istanbul

A delegation from Uzbekistan is participating in the High-level TPD@Scale Global Meeting: evidence, quality and scale, which is being held in Istanbul from 26 to 30 September 2022.

The Global meeting aims to collectively reflect on how the TPD@Scale model has been interpreted, implemented and assessed in each national setting and to contribute to a framework for governments (policy makers etc) which highlight the implications of this collaborative effort to generate a change in the way in which local actors understand, implement and assess local @scale TPD systems.

The global meeting has been reported results of research on teachers’ professional development was undertaken in diverse contexts within Ghana, Honduras, and Uzbekistan and presented adapted Teachers Professional Development at Scale (TPD@Scale) models at a national level in three countries.

This has been the first time since the commencement of the project that the country teams and country partners have met in-person, along with the global project team including UNESCO, the Foundation for Information Technology Education and Development (Philippine), Worldreader (USA), and SUMMA: Laboratory of Education Research and Innovation for Latin America and the Caribbean, all members of the TPD@Scale Coalition for the Global South, and the International Development Research Centre (IDRC, Canada). This meeting has provided an invaluable opportunity to discuss the progress, gains, and learnings generated in each country and by the project as a whole.

Uzbekistan team has been represented by UNESCO Tashkent Office along with Agency for Presidential educational institutions and Avloniy Research Institute representatives. Uzbekistan team has presented Uzbekistan’s  ICT mediated TPD@Scale Models which have been developed, tested and adapted into education system within “Adapting and Scaling Teacher Professional Development Approaches” project.

Objective:

  • Discuss TPD@Scale project progress and outcomes;
  • Present adapted Teachers Professional Development at Scale (TPD@Scale) models;
  • Share experiences on quality teacher professional development;
  • Develop an evidence-based framework for operationalising TPD@Scale (with attention to our EQE principles)
  • Develop a country action plan for influencing; outputs and engagement with stakeholder
  • Identify priority areas for future collaborations and joint projects.
